Greater Hartford Arts Council Cultural Grants & Programs

The Greater Hartford Arts Council uses money generated through the annual United Arts Campaign to support more than 150 arts and heritage organizations across a 34-town service area. Through each of these grant programs, the Arts Council has invested millions of dollars into the local cultural community.

General Operating Support

Direct-support grants that provide unrestricted dollars to the area's cultural institutions. General Operating funds ensure that grantee organizations can pay their bills and continue to produce innovative programming.


Hartford Arts & Heritage Jobs Grant

Created by the City of Hartford and managed by the Greater Hartford Arts Council, the Arts & Heritage Jobs Grant program funds programs and events that support arts jobs in Hartford and generate a measureable impact on the local economy.

 


Heritage Advancement

Heritage Advacement grants are designed to help Greater Hartford's heritage organizations address professional staffing needs, increase their capacity for attracting and serving visitors and build institutional effectiveness and long-term sustainability.

 


Neighborhood Arts & Heritage Grants

The Neighborhood Arts & Heritage grant program provides project-specific support for creative and innovative programs which use the arts and heritage to enrich the quality of life of its participants.

 


HARTFORD Events Grants

Hartford Events Grant, previously the Community Events Grant, funding provides for the promotional and technical assistance and financial support to encourage and enhance annual festivals in the Greater Hartford area. Funded programs celebrate the cultural diversity of our area, generate business and revitalize local neighborhoods.

 


Neighborhood Studios

Neighborhood Studios grants fund participating arts organizations who create studio programs in theatre, dance, music and visual arts as part of a summer arts education program. Neighborhood Studios six-week programs provide important training in arts-related disciplines and teach applicable vocational and educational skills through interactive workshops.
