“Reconstructed Steel: Forms by Vicente Garcia” Opening at 100 Pearl Street Gallery
Garcia’s exhibit opens Jan 23 with an artist's reception on Jan 26 from 5 to 7pm. The artist presents a selection of large-scale sculptures made from re-bar, steel, brass and copper finished with natural rusting, chemical patinas, polishing, grinding and torching. Taste of Hartford®
The Greater Hartford Arts Council in partnership with the Hartford Advocate present the Taste of Hartford®, two weeks of fine discount dining from Jan 23 to Feb 5. Restaurants across Hartford offer special multi-course, price-fixed tasting menus featuring their signature dishes for only $20.12. Menus available for download online here beginning Jan 16.
NEWS from the Community iQuilt Presents Hartford Winterfest iQuilt offers free public ice skating and skate rentals for visitors of Bushnell Park to enjoy. Winterfest runs daily from 11am to 9pm until Feb 20 and please consider donating gently used skates, as well as children’s hats and gloves to the program. Artists in Residence Program at I-Park—Deadline Jan 30 I-Park is accepting applications for self-directed artists’ residences. Most sessions are 4-weeks and are offered to those working in Visual Arts, Music Composition, Creative Writing, Moving Image and Landscape/Garden Design. $30 application fee, though the residence offers comfortable private living quarters, a private studio, and a meal program.
